Services were held for Pauline McDonald Wednesday morning, November 19, in the Baumgarten Funeral Home in Hartley. Conducting the services was Howard Kindlespire with Bob LaBrandt speaking. Burial was in the Pleasant View Cemetery at Hartley.

Pauline Gaye McDonald, the daughter of Edson and Grace Webster Putnam was born at Hartley on April 8, 1906. She graduated from Hartley High School in 1924.

She was united in marriage to George McDonald at Spencer, Iowa, on March 19, 1947. They moved to California in 1957, and back to Hartley in 1973. She worked for many years at Red's Cafe and while in California, owned and operated a Day Care Center in San Diego. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints at Milford, Iowa.

She passed away at the hospital in Hartley on November 16, 1980 at the age of 74. Preceding her in death were her parents and two brothers, Darwin and Robert.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband, George; two daughters, Mrs. Wilmar (Jeanette) Weber of Encinitas, California, and Mrs. Bob (Norma) Knock of Melvin; five grandchildren, one great-granddaughter, other relatives and friends.
