Rites for Mrs. Putnam Saturday

Services in memory of Grace Putnam were held Saturday morning, October 9, 1976, at the United Methodist Church, Hartley, Iowa. Rev. Bernard Sayler officiated. Interment was in the Pleasant View Cemetery, Hartley, with the Baumgarten Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Gracy May Putnam nee Webster, the daughter of Wesley and Alice McMillan Webster, was born December 2, 1880 at Bement, Illinois. She came to O'Brien County with her parents and had made her home in the Hartley area since that time.

She was united in marriage at Hartley in 1901 to Edson Putnam. To this union were born five children. She was a member of the United Methodist Church of Hartley and had been a resident of the Mann nursing wing for the last five years.

Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband, three sons, six sisters and one brother.

She passed away at the Mann Nursing Wing on October 7, 1976, at the age of 95.

Left to cherish her memory are one daughter, Mrs. George (Pauline) McDonald of Hartley, and one son, Robert Putnam of Borrego Springs, California; four grandchildren and six great grandchildren, as well as other relatives and friends.
