1890 - Christoph Hellmann - 1961

Christoph Fred Hellmann, son of William and Anna Hoermann Hellmann was born Feb 26, 1890, on a farm near Germantown. He attended school at St. John's Lutheran school in Germantown and was confirmed there.

On March 5, 1913, he was united in marriage to Hattie Lange. To them two children were born. Mr. Hellmann farmed near Germantown until 1947 when he retired and moved to Paullina.

His wife preceded him in death in 1958.

He passed away Sept. 13 at Cooper's Nursing home in Sutherland, at the age of 71 years, six months, and 17 days.

Survivors are a daughter, Ellen, (Mrs. Walter Pauling), a son, Edward, of Paullina, a brother William of Paullina, seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren

Chris Hellmann Dies; Services Saturday

Chris Hellmann, a resident of Paullina and the Germantown community all of his life, died early Wednesday morning at Cooper's Nursing Home, Sutherland. He was 71 years of age. Funeral services, conducted by Gaudian Funeral Home, will be held at Zion Lutheran church, here, Saturday at 2:00 with burial in Prairie View cemetery. The Rev. Paul Sohn will officiate.
