SUTHERLAND, Iowa – Ray A. Davis, 65, Sutherland, died March 20 at a hospital in Primghar of a long illness.

Services will be at 2 p.m. March 22 in the United Methodist Church at Sutherland. The Rev. William Rieckoff will officiate. Burial will be in Waterman Cemetery under direction of the Baumgarten Funeral Home.

Mr. Davis was born June 15, 1910, in Sutherland. He married Leona Engel Dec. 27, 1930 in Sioux City. He was a self-employed painter and interior decorator more than 40 years.

He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Sutherland.

Survivors include the widow; two sons, Leland of Stuart, Fla., and Allyn; a daughter, Mrs. Merle (Kathy) Virgil of Mason City; a brother, Clay in Colorado, and six grandchildren.
