Services held for Viola A. (Hilbert) Strampe

Viola A. (Hilbert) Strampe, 91, of Sioux City, Iowa, died Friday, December 12, 2003, at the Sunrise Retirement Home in Sioux City, Iowa.

Cemetery and graveside services for her were held Tuesday, December 16, 2003, at the Waterman Township Cemetery at Sutherland. Rev Dennis Hopes of the Sutherland United Methodist Church officiated.

Mrs. Strampe was born June 3. 1912 at Sutherland, Iowa, the daughter of Andrew and Matie (Ahrens) Hilbert. She graduated from Sutherland High School. She married Delbert W. Strampe in 1932 The couple moved to Sioux City in the early 1940s. Mr. Strampe preceded Viola in death in 1980 in Sioux City.

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Sioux City.

Survivors include a son, Rodney Strampe and his wife Nancy Cogan of Iowa City, and four grandsons, Russell of Ft. Wayne, Indiana, David of Montrose, Colorado, Kenneth of Iowa City, and Stephen of Billings, Montana.
