Funeral services were held Friday, October 3, 1986 at 11 a.m. at Gaudian Eldridge Funeral Home, Primghar, for Joe E. Dillie. Rev. Scott Hibben and Rev. David Landegent officiated. Military graveside services were conducted by Chateau-Thierry Post American Legion of Primghar. Interment was at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Primghar.

Joe E. Dillie was born October 2, 1921 in Sessums, Mississippi. He enlisted in the Army in 1943 and served in World War II and the Korean Conflict, serving a total of nine years. He moved to Des Moines, and was employed by Hoxie Fruit Company and the thriteen years before he retired was emloyed by Meridith Printing Company as an automotive mechanic and garage foreman. In 1983, he and his wife moved to Primghar.

Joe was a member of Grand Park Christian Church in Des Moines.

He is survived by his wife Masel of Primghar; on daughter, Mrs. JoAnne Miller of Des Moines; three stepsons, Dan Morgan of San Antonio, Texas, Dick Morgan of Little Rock, Arkansas, and Don Morgan of Des Moines; twelve grandchildren; also a host of other relatives and friends.
