WILLIE SIMM SCARLET FEVER VICTIM
William Turner

Many of the friends or Mr. and Mrs. Wm Simm and family were greatly surprised and deeply grieved at the announcement last Thursday afternoon of the death of William Turner the fifth child of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Simm. It was thought by most people that the children of this home had gotten over the attack of scarlet fever and were well on the road to recovery. Under these circumstances the news of William's death came as a distinct shock.

Funeral services were held from the family home Saturday afternoon at two o'clock. Rev. Williams, of the Presbyterian church officiating. Interment was at Prairie View Cemetery. The services at the home were held outdoors.

William Turner Simm, the fifth child of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Simm, was born May 9, 1905 and died November 17, 1921 being at the time of his death 16 years, 6 months and 8 days of age. He contracted scarlet fever the 18th of October. Other complications arose and although he made a brave fight for his life it was of no avail and he passed away about 2:30 Thursday afternoon, November 17th.

William was born and raised on the farm where his parents reside. He finished the country school and was a sophomore in the Paullina High School. He was of a quiet, unassuming disposition; kind and considerate of all; and deeply loved by his family and friends.

He leaves to mourn his death, his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Simm; three brothers, John, Richard and James; and two sisters, Edna and Annie.

One brother and sister have proceeded him in death.
