Mrs. Fred Awe Passes Away suddenly Sunday

Mrs. Fred Awe, for many years a resident of Paullina, died very suddenly Sunday morning. The cause of the death was heart trouble. Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at the Zion Lutheran church, Rev. J. Hartmeister officiated. Burial was made in the local cemetery.

Obituary

Mrs. Fred Awe was born July 9, 1866 near Schleswig-Holstein, Germany. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Church. Her maiden name was Schmidt. She came to America in 1887, locating in Crawford County. The following year she was married to Mr. William Schultz, January 12, 1888. Three children were born, Ella (Mrs. Adolph Meyer), Herman Schultz of Sanborn and Emma (Mrs. Walter Strampe). The children were all small when their father died January 25. 1899. The widow Schultz entered a second marriage with Mr. Fred Awe Feb. 25, 1903, Pastor C. D. Nuoffer officiating. They lived on a farm southwest from Paullina. Since 1918 they have lived in town.

In the midst of her work last Sunday morning she was overcome by heart trouble and expired in the arms of her husband. Her age at the time of her death September 2, 1934, was 68 years, 1 month and 23 days.

She leaves to mourn over her sudden departure the husband, one son, two daughters, two sons-in-law, one daughter-in-law, seven grandsons, three granddaughters, and other relatives.

Interment was made at Prairie View Cemetery on Wednesday afternoon, September 5.
