Funeral services for Carl F. Rahn of Hartley were conducted Wednesday, November 17, 1993, at Saint Paul's Lutheran Church in Hartley. Rev. John Schauer officiated.

Carl F. Rahn, the son of Fred and Lillian (Koenemann) Rahn, was born November 11, 1900 in Vergas, Minnesota, and later moved to Harris, Iowa.

Carl married Ruth Murdock on June 17, 1931 in Newburg, Iowa. They lived their married life in the communities of Ocheyedan and Hartley, and he was in the retail grocery business for forty years, retiring in 1965. In 1972, Carl married Edna Fritz.

He was a member of Saint Paul's Lutheran Church in Hartley, where he held several church offices. Carl was also a member fo the Hartley City Council as well as a member of the Open Forum Coffee Club.

Mr. Rahn passed away at the Spencer Municipal Hospital on Sunday, November 14, 1993, at the age of 93. He was preceded in death by his parents; his firs twife, Ruth Rahn; and one brother, Prosper Rahn.

He is survived by his wife, Edna, of Hartley; one son and his wife, John and Mary Rahn of Spencer; on daughter, Patricia Rahn of Spencer, formerly of Mountain Home, Arkansas; six grandchildren: [redacted]; seven great-grandchildren [redacted]; one sister, Helen Bremer of Ocheyedan, Iowa; other relatives and friends.
