SERVICES HELD FOR ED MOHNI

Funeral services for Ed Mohni were Monday, July 28, 1975 at 2:00 p.m. at the Trinity United Church of Christ at Hartley. The Reverend Lester Hancock officiated. Casket bearers were Keith Riedemann, Jack Jones, Denneth Leth, Herb Schroeder, Gene Sorensen and Everett Barker. Interment was at Pleasant View Cemetery, Hartley. The Baumgarten Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Edward George Mohni, the son of Albert and Emma Hugh Mohni, was born near Everly, Iowa on January 1, 1923. He received his education in rural school near his home and lived near Everly for 22 years.

He served in the United States Army during World War II for two years and then returned to the Hartley area.

He was united in marriage at Worthington, Minnesota to Marjorie Mae Fahrenkrog on August 26, 1948. They lived in Hartley and Ed worked for various employers, the last several years for Sorensen Farm Drainage.

He was a member of the Trinity United Church of Christ of Hartley, Iowa and had been a member of the American Legion.

He passed away at the Hartley Hospital on July 26, 1975 at the age of 52. Preceding him in death were his parents, two sisters and one brother.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, two sons, Terry and his wife Pat of Hartley and Dan of Hartley and one daughter and her husband, Vicki and Dennis Irwin of Hartley; two grandchildren, Valerie Mohni and Staci Irwin, four brothers, Herman and Oscar of Everly and John and William of Hartley and four sisters, Mrs. Harry (Marie) Wiese and Mrs. Wilbert (Rosie) Roggenburg, both of Hartley and Mrs. Walter (Tillie) Roggenburg of Arnolds Park and Mrs. Wilbur (Louise) Steinbeck of Fon du Lac, Wisconsin, as well as many other relatives and friends.
