Marjorie Mae Mohni

Funeral services in memory of Marjorie Mae Mohni were held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, November 14, 1997, at Trinity United Church of Christ in Hartley. Rev. Milo Sheldon officiated.

Casket bearers were Peter Iles, Douglas Popp, Clifford Roggenburg, Gene Mohni, Lyle Stork and Manuel Rodriguez. Honorary casket bearers were Valerie Iles, Staci Rodriguez, Chris Irwin, Kyle Mohni, Cory Mohni, Terryn Mohni and Holle Mohni. Interment was in Pleasant View Cemetery in Hartley. Warner-Baumgarten Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Marjorie Mae Mohni, the daughter of Emil and Lillian Peters Fahrenkrog, was born March 15, 1927 in Moneta, Iowa. Her childhood years were spent in Hartley, Iowa, where she received her early education, graduating from Hartley High School. Following her education, she worked at a bank in Hartley.

Marjorie married Edward Mohni on August 26, 1948 in Worthington, Minnesota. Following her marriage, she lived in Hartley and worked at Feller's Cafe and later, Red's Cafe where she worked for 16 years. She also worked at Gene's Foodland and Jamboree Foods. Marjorie was a member of Trinity United Church, of Christ. She was dedicated to her family and she was an example of goodness and righteousness to her children and grandchildren.

Mrs. Mohni passed away at her home in Hartley on Tuesday, November 11, 1997 at the age of 70. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Edward; and one sister, Evelyn Fanning.

She is survived by two sons and their wives: Terry and Pam, Danny and Bev, all of Hartley; one daughter, Vicki Irwin of Hartley; seven grandchildren: Valerie lies, Staci Rodriguez, Chris Irwin, Kyle Mohni, Cory Mohni, Terryn Mohni and Holle Mohni; three great-grandchildren: Hailie Iles, Blake Iles and Marcus Irwin; one brother, Winton and his wife, Joyce Fahrenkrog of Spirit Lake, Iowa; one sister, Dorothy and her husband, William Roberts of Chesapeake Beach, Maryland; other relatives and many friends.
