Emma Harn, daughter of Joseph and Hattie Harn, was born in Archer, Iowa, in August 11, 1896. She lived her youth and attended rural school near Archer, Iowa.

She was united in marriage to Albert Mattson on April 9, 1920, at Archer, Iowa. After their marriage, they lived in the Philby vicinity and came to live in Sanborn in 1938.

She entered the Sheldon Community Hospital on December 9, 1971, and passed away there on December 19, 1971, at the age of 75 years, 4 months and 18 days.

She is survived by one son, Donald Mattson of Westfield, New Jersey; ten grandchildren: two brothers, John Harn of Primghar, and Edward Harn of Spring Valley, California; five sisters, Mrs. Margaret Daily of Sheldon, Iowa, Jean Dirkse and Dorothy (Mrs. John Mulder) of Spring Valley, California; Evelyn (Mrs. Herman Herwig) and Fern (Mrs. Henry Luinenberg), both of San Diego, California.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one daughter, two sons, two sisters, and two brothers.
