Vallenia Vallenius, daughter of Pair and Hannah Vallenius, was born in Moline, Illinois, on October 9, 1893. She lived her youth and attended school in Moline, Illinois, and attended Augustana College there. After this she went to New York City where she was employed as a Woman's Dress Designer.

She was united in marriage to Ben Niewendorp of rural Sanborn on December 15, 1919. after their marriage they farmed northwest of Archer for one year, and hen moved to a farm south of Sanborn in 1922. In 1930, they moved north of Sanborn where they farmed until the time of her death at the Sheldon Community Memorial Hospital on January 9, 1970, at the age of 76 years and three months.

She is survived by her husband, Ben, of Sanborn, one son, Byron, of Hartley, and two grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, and two sisters.
