Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Februay 11, 2005, at the United Methodist Church in Everly, Iowa. Burial will take place in Pleasant View Cemetery, Hartley, Iowa.

Beulan Belle Nielsen, the daughter of Lewis and Ruby Jones Thompson, was born February 24, 1934 in Spencer, Iowa. Her childhood years were spent in Arnolds Park where she received her early education and graduated from Arnolds Park High School.

She was united in marriage to Harry Edward Nielsen on June 16, 1956, in Arnolds Park, Iowa. Following their marriage, they farmed north of Hartley for 25 years.

While living in the Hartley area, Billie was an active member of the Hartley United Methodist Church. Her husband, Harry, passed away on August 30, 1982. Billie then moved to Winter Haven, Florida, where she lived fifteen years and work as an Administrative Assistant Secretary at a hospital. She then moved to Royal, Iowa, and was an active member of the Everly United Methodist Church where she was a church organist and pianist.

Billie passed away on February 8, 1005 at the Community Memorial Health Center in Hartley at the age of 70. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one brother and sister.

She is survived by two daughters and their husbands: Rev. Tammy and Michael Winslow of Colorado Springs, CO., and Barb and Allen Bohr of Royal, Iowa; one son: Kurt Nielsen of Everly, Iowa, five grandchildren; one brother, Merwin Thompson of Winter Haven, Florida; other relatives and friends.
