1881 - Mrs. Minnie Innes - 1957

Mrs. Wilhelmina Catherine Johannsen Innes, the daughter of William Jacob and Margaret (Brumm) Johannsen, was born in Traer, Iowa, November 19, 1881; and passd away while a patient in the Sioux Valley Hospital in Cherokee, Iowa, June 8, 1957.

As a child at the age of four, she moved with her parents from Tama county to O'Brien county where she attended the rural schools. Through the intervening years O'Brien county has been her place of residence.

On December 18, 1901, she was united in marriage to Mr. Arthur Innes, the wedding having taken place in Sutherland, Iowa. It was at about this time that the Inneses moved to their home south of town. Six children were born to them. After the death of Mr. Innes in 1930, she continued to make her home and that of her two sons on the farm until 1947 when she came town.

Before her marriage Mrs. Innes was engaged in dressmaking. She was baptized in the Lutheran church formerly located in Calumet. In more recent years, she was a member of the Methodist Women's Society of Christian Service.

Those who preceded her in death were he parents, two children in infancy; her husband on April 1, 1930; two brothers, Julius and Herman; three sisters, Dora, Hilda, and Rose.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Forrest (Lucille) Moding, of Everly, Iowa; Mrs. Gerald (Marie) Martin of Wichita, Kansas; two sons, Perry Innes, of Wichita, Kansas; and Harry Innes of Northwood, Iowa; also two sisters: Mrs, Annie Rogers of Marcus, Iowa; and Mrs. Ella Peters os Sutherland, Iowa; five grandchildren, four great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
