Percy Agnew Joines, son of Frank and Rachel Sturgill Joines, was born February 26, 1891, at Sparta, North Carolina. He passed away on June 14, 1957 at the Sioux Valley Hospital in Cherokee, Iowa, at the age of 66 years, 3 months, and 18 days.

He had resided in several localities, having lived in North Carolina for 16 years, in the Sutherland vicinity 17 years, near Peterson and Larrabee, 20 years, and for the past 13 years, in the Meriden area. He was engaged in farming all his life, but had not worked for a bout a year, due to poor health.

He attended school in North Carolina. He was a member of the Ind. Order of Odd Fellows.

On March 8, 1911, he was united in marriage to Ada Siefken at Hartley, Iowa. To them were born four children, two of whom preceded him in death. They were a daughter, June, and a son, Dale.

Survivors include his wife, Ada, and two sons, Gerald of Minneapolis, Minnesota, and Lorne of Levittown, Pa., and six grandchildren.
