Martha Wilma Jipp, the daughter of William and Margaret Springman Slinger, was born June 19, 1920 at Granville, Iowa. She was educated in schools near her childhood home and graduated from Primghar High School in 1938.

She was united in marriage to Lawrence Jipp at Spencer, Iowa on February 28, 1940. They made their home on a farm near Hartley until moving into town in 1969. She was a member of the Trinity United Church of Christ at Hartley.

She passed away at Marian Health Center in Sioux City, Iowa on November 8, 1989 at the age of 69. Preceding her in death were her parents, one sister, Serena, and four brothers, Herman, Edward, William and Jacob.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Lawrence, one son, Kenneth of Sioux Falls, and one grandson, Douglas, three sisters, Mrs. Fred (Helen) Glaser, Mrs. Ray (Margaret) Krumm both of Hartley, Mrs. Leonard (Marcella) Jacobs of Concord, N.C., one brother, Henry Slinger of Hartley, other relatives and friends.
