Services in memory of Henry C. Slinger were held on Tuesday, April 27, 1993, at Gaudian_Eldridge Funeral Home in Primghar. Rev. Harry McAlpine officiated. Interment was in [West] Prairie View Cemetery.

Henry C. Slinger, the son of William and Margarent Springman Slinger, was born July 16, 1923 in Milford, Iowa. He moved with his family to the Primghar area where he received his education. He graduated from Primghar High School in 1940. He then went on to serve in the Air Force during World War II in the Pacific. He returned to Primghar where he owned and operated a corn sheller.

In February of 1959 he was united in marriage to Mavis Holck in Valentine, Nebraska. She passed away in 1967. Henry then moved to Hartley where he was employed by O'Brien County, later working for Witco Corp. in Spencer before retiring in 1984.

Henry passed away on Friday, April 23, 1993, at the Spencer Municipal Hospital, reaching the age of 69 years, nine months and seven days.

Henry is survived by two step-daughters, Susan Hubbell of Laurens, Iowa, and Mary Bowman of Salt Lake City, Utah; four step-grandchildren; three sisters: Mrs. Helen Glaser and Mrs. Margaret Krumm of Hartley, and Mrs. Marcella Jacobs of Concord, North Carolina; also a host of other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife; his parents; four brothers, Herman, William, Jake, and Edward; and two sisters, Martha Jipp and Sister Serena Slinger.
