WALTER MOHR

Funeral services for Walter H. (Pete) Mohr, 73, a former Hartley resident, were conducted Sunday, March 23, at 2:30 p.m. in the Trinity United Church of Christ in Hartley, with Rev. Robert Bell of Everly, Iowa, officiating.

Walter Hans Mohr, youngest son of Henry and Katherin (Frahm) Morh, was born May 28, 1905 at Ogden, Iowa. At an early age, the family moved to the Hartley vicinity where he received his education and grew to manhood.

He was married to Eunice Wiese, also of Hartley, on December 25, 1926, in Sioux City, Iowa, where they resided for six years before returning to Hartley where Mr. Mohr was plant manager for Fairmont Foods for fifteen years.

In 1947, the Mohrs moved to Valley City, North Dakota, where Mr. Mohr became assistant manager of the Land O'Lakes Creamer Company plant, which position he held for twenty-one years.

Mr. Mohr became ill in August 1969. He underwent surgery in Fargo. He never fully recovered and his health continued to fail until his death on March 19, 1969.

He leaves to mourn his passing his wife, Eunice; three children, Richard of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, Gloria (Mrs. Richard Harris) of Everly, Iowa, and Kay C. of Brooten, Minnesota; nine grandchildren; five sisters: Mrs. L.E. (Margaret) Mielke, Mrs. Fred (Mary) Miller, and Mrs. Fred (Martha) Hazlett, all of Hartley, Iowa; Mrs. Rufus (Ann) Young of Monticello, Iowa, and Mrs. Henry (Lydia) Bertoch of Alexandria, Minnesota; several brothers-in-law, numerous nieces and nephews and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers and three sisters.

Services were conducted Saturday, March 22, at 11:00 a.m. at the Congregational Church in Valley City, North Dakota, with Rev. James MacArthur officiating. The Peterson-Olson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements and brought the remains to the Baumgarten Funeral Home, which conducted the services here.

Interment was in the family plot in Pleasant View Cemetery in Hartley, Iowa.
