Cecil Peterson, 69, of Everly, passed away July 3, 1979 at the Hartley hospital after being ill for some time. Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, July 6, in St. Mary's Catholic Church in Everly. Rev. Thomas Munn officiated. Committal services were in St. Cecelia's Catholic Cemetery, Sanborn with Baumgarten Funeral Home in charge.

Cecil, son of John and Christine (Olson) Peterson, was born August 18, 1909 at Sanborn. He graduated from Sanborn High School in 1927.

He was united in marriage to Vera Pendergast on August 4, 1929 at Sanborn. They lived at Britt, Ledyard, and Peterson, Iowa, St. Peter, Minn, and LaCrosse, Wise, before moving to Everly in 1949. Cecil owned and operated his own grocery store for 20 years' and for the last eight years had worked at the Hartley Drugstore in Hartley. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and Commercial Club in Everly and the Kiwanis Club at LaCrosse.

Survivors include his widow, one brother, Calvin, of Nekoosa, Wis, and other relatives.

Preceding him in death were his parents, one daughter, Linda Gathman and two brothers, Ivan and John, Jr.
