Emerson Francis White
The community was shocked and saddened Wednesday morning, January 22, when it learned of the sudden death of Emerson White, a young farmer residing southeast of Hartley. While in the process of doing his chores that morning, he suffered a heart attack and death was instantaneous.
Emerson Francis White was born at Sanborn, Iowa, February 1, 1916, and departed this life on January 22, 1947 at the age of 30 years, 11 months and 21 days. He is the son of Frank White of Blue Earth, Minnesota and Mrs. Essie White of Sanborn.
Emerson attended the public school of Sanborn and grew to manhood in that vicinity.
On June 11, 1942, he was united in marriage with Miss Viola Fitzer of Hartley, and three children were born to this union: Gene, 5, Wayne, 3, and Arlyn, 2 years of age, who with his widow are left to mourn his early demise. He also leaves his parents, his grandmother, Mrs. S.D. Boyer of Sanborn, a half-sister, Miss Olive White of Springfield, Missouri, and aunt, Mrs. George Engelke of Sutherland, his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Herman Miller of Hartley, and a host of other friends and relatives.
