Donna Elda Woodyard, the daughter of Frank and Dorothy Wood Morrow, was born October 27, 1930, in Cherokee, Iowa. Her childhood years were spent in Cherokee, where she received her early education.
Donna married Floyd Woodyard on July 24, 1949 in Sanitoba, Mississippi. Following their marriage, they lived in Cherokee where she worked at Cherokee Mental Health. Later they moved to Archer, where they owned and operated a cafe. They moved to Sutherland in 1964, where Floyd operated a plumbing and heating shop and Donna owned and operated a thrift store. Donna also worked at Coopers, Fern's Cafe, the Old P.O., and the bowling alley. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, watching birds, growing flowers and watching the Chicago Cubs.
Mrs. Woodyard passed away at the Marian Health Center in Sioux City, Iowa, on Sunday, May 18, 1997 at the age of sixty-six. She was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd; her parents: Frank and Dorothy Morrow; five brothers: Robert, Wallace, Roy, Lynn and Meredith; and four sisters: Phyllis, Audrey, Betty and Joyce.
She is survived by her children: Barbara (Mrs. Dave) Wheeler, Sarah Henderson, Mary (Mrs. Paul) Beermann, and Floyd Woodyard, all of Sutherland; her grandchildren:[redacted]; two sisters: Dorothy Houser and her husband, DeWayne of Mitchell, SD, and Coleen Weiland of LeMars, Iowa; three brothers: Frankie Morrow and his wife, Dale "Toddy" Morrow of Cherokee, and Dwight C. "Oley" Morrow of Crescent; in-laws, nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
