Services In memory of Evelyn Fanning were held 10:30 a.m. Wednesday. September 4, 1991. at Trinity United Church of Christ in Hartley. Rev. K. Stokes Snyder officiated. Casket bearers were Alvin Reverts. Scott Steinmetz. Ed Schierholz, Jerry Holtz. Roger Miller and Tim Roth. Committal service was in Pleasant View Cemetery in Hartley. Baumgarten Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Evelyn Helene Fanning, the daughter of Emil and Lillie Peters Fahrenkrog, was born March 18, 1917, at Hartley, Iowa. She was baptized March 5, 1923, and confirmed on June 9, 1935, at the Trinity United Church of Christ in Hartley where she has been a lifetime member. She attended schools at Moneta and Hartley.

She was united in marriage to Verlis Fanning on November 19, 1937, at Sioux City. They made their home at Hartley and became the parents of three children: Pat, Mike and Dixie.

She passed away at Hartley on September 1, 1991, at the age of 74.

Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband in 1987, and one step grandson. Michael DeWitt.

Left to cherish her memory are her three children [redacted]; eight grandchildren: [redacted]; one brother. Winton Fahrenkrog of Spirit Lake; as well as other relatives and friends.
