Mrs. Thomas Weale, nee Lizzie May Barner, the daughter of John and Iralene Hufferd Barner was born June 30, 1884, at Liverpool, Pennsylvania. She passed away at her home in Sutherland on July 4, 1953 at the age of sixty-nine years and four days.
Her childhood was spent at the place of her birth, where she attended the public school. At the age of twelve years she made her home with an aunt, Miss Daisy Hufferd at Coon Rapids, Iowa. She was graduated from Iowa State Teachers College in 1908, and became a public school teacher. She was a member of the Methodist churcy, the W.S.C.S. and the Sutherland Women's Club.
On September 21, 1910, she was married to Thomas Evan Weale at Coon Rapids, Iowa. To there were born three children: Maurine (Mrs Loren Ewoldt) of Tacoma, Washington, Ruth (Mrs. A.L. Rine) of Haines City, Florida, and Evan of Sutherland.
Besides her husband and children, she is survived by a sister, Mrs. Lynn Taylor, and a brother, Sam Barner, both ot Los Angeles, Californa, three grandsons, two granddaughters, he aunt, Miss Dolsy Hufferd, several nieces and nephews.
