Services in memory of Minnie Magee were held at the United Methodist Church in Hartley on Friday, October 17. Rev. Bernard Sayler officiated. The casket bearers were Bob Pashby, Tommie Thompson, Bob Burns, Russel Sauer, Ken Hewitt and Bill Olhausen. Burial was at the Pleasant View Cemetery at Hartley with the Baumgarten Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

Minnie Magee, the daughter of Edo and Margaret Jensen Peters, was born March 19, 1890 in Whiteside County, Illinois. She moved with her parents to the Hartley area at age 11.

She was united in marriage to Ralph Magee at Hartley on January 15, 1913. She was a member of the United Methodist Church at Hartley, the Mirian Circle, the American Legion Auxiliary, and was a Gold Star Mother. For the last six years she had made her home with her daughter at Spirit Lake, Iowa.

She passed away at the hospital in Spirit Lake on October 14, 1890 at the age of 90. Preceding her in death were her parents; a son, Edward in 1945 during World War II; three brothers, Adolph, Chris and Henry; and her husband Ralph in 1961.

Left to cherish her memory are two daughters, Irene Wills of Hartley and Mildred Pashby of Spirit Lake, five grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, one sister, Emma Byrne of Los Angeles, California, other relatives and friends.
