John Reimers, 81, Philip, South Dakota, former resident of Hartley and Woodbury County, died February 9 in Philip. Services were February 12 in Philip, with graveside and American Legion services at 1:30 pm February 13 at Pleasant View Cemetery with the Reverend Robert Mc Blaine of the Hartley United Methodist Church officiating. Baumgarten Funeral Home was in charge of Hartley arrangements.

Mr. Reimers was born January 6, 1893, in Pipestone, Minnesota. He moved to Woodbury County in 1898 and to Hartley in 1912. He was a veteran of World War I. He had been a resident of Philip since 1927. He was a 50 year member of Wheeler-Brook Post 173 at Philip.

Survivors include five sisters: Mrs. Adolf (Florence) Henning of Hartley, Mrs. Marie Hansen of Primghar, and Miss Lena Reimers, Miss Sophie Reimers, and Mrs. Pearl Couch, all of Philip.
