Dolly Marie Lynam was born December 28,1903 in Woodbury County, Iowa, daughter of Sylvester and Grace (Bolin)Lynam. Marie grew up near Sergeant Bluff, Iowa, a member of a large and loving family. She attended rural school through 8th grade and later beauty school in Sioux City. Following completion of beauty school she took a job in Sanborn, Iowa where she met and married Dr. John Marden Eason, D.D.S. on June 2, 1925 at Orange City. She lived in Sanborn until 1972 when she moved to LaMesa, Calif, after the death of her husband. Thereafter she made her home with her daughter and family in California.
She took great pride in her children and grandchildren and was always very close to her parents, sisters and brothers. She was a good cook, a good friend, and a devoted mother and grandmother. Her hobbles included baking, crewel embroidery and painting plaster figurines. She was a member of the D.A.R.
She died September 25, 1995 at Golden Palms Nursing Home in San Diego, Calif, at the age of 91 years.
Survivors include two sons: John Verne Eason and his wife, Mary of Clear Lake, la., James Marden Eason of Lakeside, Calif.; and one daughter, Joan Marie Home and her husband, John of La Mesa, Calif; five grandchildren: three great grandchildren; also three sisters: Thelma Burmeister and her husband, Clarence of Bend, Oreg., Sylvia Rumohr of Moville, Ia., and Dorothy Willer of Santa Maria, Calif.; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, five brothers: Jacob, Jim, Ed, Harry, Stanley and Everett and four sisters: Mabel, Nell, Elsie and Blanche.
The body was cremated. Graveside services will be held later with burial at Roseland Cemetery, Sanborn.
