Charles Henry Reinke, eldest son of Albert and Minnie Reinke, was born Augest 25th, 1877, at Genevia, Iowa; and died at Hartley, Iowa, February 21th, 1911, age 33 years, 5 months and 26 days.
Charles was converted in his youth and joined the German Evangelical church of which he remained a faithful member until called to join the church triumphant above. Reared in a Christian home, his entire life blessed by the hallowed influence emanating from the lives of godly parents. He was a good boy in every sense of the word, respected and loved by all who knew him. He had been in poor health for the past year and a half, but confined to his bed only three days.
Besides his grief stricken parents, he leaves four brothers and three sisters to mourn his untimely death, one brother having having been called before.
Funeral services were conducted from the house on Wednesday, the first part being in German, Rev. Scholt speaking from the text: "For me to live is Christ and to die is gain." He was followed by Rev . Gilbert who spoke in English on, "This man started a building which he could not finish."
In the death of Charles Henry Reinke , the world has lost a beautiful character. But the Master had need of him and called. In that Great day we shall know as we are known, and God has promised to wipe all tears from off all faces.
The entire community extends to the bereaved family, heartfelt sympathy in their hour of trial and deep bereavement.
