Services for Ida Gruver were held at 2:30 p.m. , Sunday, July 24, 1983, at the Gaudian-Eldridge Funeral Home at Paullina, Iowa, with the Rev. James Ransom officiating. Pallbearers were: Robert McCauley, Claude Whitehead, Dick Halstrom, Cliff Hellman, Don Brown, and Dan Struve, Jr. "Old Rugged Cross " and "Abide With Me " wer e sung by John Ihle with Kay Grosvenor at the organ. The final resting place is the Prairie View Cemetery at Paullina, Iowa. The arrangements were under the care of the Gaudian-Eldridge Funeral Home.

OBITUARY
Ida Gruver, the daughter of William and Nancy Edwards Merricks, was born January 11, 1896, in Huntington, West Virginia [sic] She attended schools in West Virginia and later in O'Brien County, Iowa.

On December 6, 1917, she was united in marriage to Ray Gruver in Sheldon, Iowa. After their marriage the couple farmed in the Paullina area until 1942 when they moved to Colorado Springs, Colo., residing there until 1955 when they moved to Boulder. In 1968 they moved to Broomfield, Colo. In 1980, the couple returned to Paullina where Ida has been a resident of the Wide View Retirement Home. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church.

She passed away on Thursday, July 21 , 1983, reaching the age of 87 years, 6 months and 10 days.

Ida is survived by her husband Ray of Paullina, 6 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, two sisters, Mrs. Charlotte Anderson of Minneapolis, Minn., and Mrs. Lena Estep of Lebanon, Oregon, also nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by one daughter, Anna Belle; one son, Charles; her parents, two sisters and one brother.
