Mary Ann Brannan was born May 14th, 1836 at Toronto, Canada, and passed to the great Beyond December 3, 1908, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. T.W. Farnsworth at Sanborn, Iowa, at 2:15 p.m.

At the age of twenty-two she was united in marriage with Jerry F. Furnas, who died five years ago. Four children were born to bless the home, one of whom survives, Mrs. T.W. Farnsworth with whom the deceased had made her home for the past eight years. The eldest dying when an infant: John W. in 1882; and Rella in 1900. Mrs. Furnas had been a great sufferer for a number of years, and relatives had done all within the reach of medical aid to relieve her, but with little avail.

Funeral services were held at the Catholic church Saturday morning, Father McCormack conducting high mass. The remains were laid to rest in Roseland Cemetery. The sympathy of all is extended.
