Mrs. Emma D Puhrmann, the daughter of Henry Beermann and Louise nee Kluender, was born on Jan 23, 1885 near Germantown, O'Brien County, Iowa She was baptized, educated and confirmed in St. John's Lutheran Church at Germantown
On January 27, 1904, she was united m marriage to George Puhrmann. To this union, thirteen children were born. Mr and Mrs. Puhrmann farmed in Baker township all of their married lives and moved to Paullina in 1939 Mr and Mrs. Puhrmann had the happy occasion to celebrate their golden wedding anniversary in 1954. In 1964, Mrs Puhrmann's life was saddened by the loss of her beloved husband.
Mrs. Puhrmann was a long time member of the Ladies Aid at Zion's. About two years ago, Mrs. Puhrmann entered the Nursing Home at Sanborn where she passed away on Tuesday, July 15 at the age of 84 years, 5 months and 22 days.
She leaves to mourn her passing five daughters, Elsie, Mrs. Wm. Miller of Paullina, Gladys, Mrs Julius Muhs of Hartley, Emily, Mns Clarence Meyer of Granville, Ruth, Mrs Frank Ahrens of LeRoy, Minn., June, Mrs. Clifford Miller of Cleghorn, and six sons, George Jr of Larrabee, and Bentley, Ray, Martin, Lee, and Ralph all of Paullina She is also survived by 38 grandchildren and 40 great grandchildren, two brothers, Bill Beermann of Huron, S Dak., and Albert Beermann of Sanborn, Minn., and one sister Mrs. Lena Stoever of Westbrook, Minn., who also mourn her passing
Burial was in the Prairie View Cemetery with Gaudian Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
