Marie A. Heithus, 91, of Paullina, passed away on Friday, January 8, 1999 at the Wide View Rest Home in Paullina. Funeral services for Mrs. Heithus were held Monday, January 11,. 1999, at Zion Lutheran Church, Paullina, with the Rev. Karl Eckhoff officiating. Burial was in Prairie View Cemetery, Paullina. Arrangements were under the care of the Gaudian-EIdridge Funeral Home of Paullina.

Marie A. Heithus, the daughter of Hausler Johann and Marie Sophie Oentrich Bade was born October 7, 1907 in Wachendorf, Germany. She received her education in Germany.

On May 9, 1936 she was united in marriage to John Heithus in Wachendorf, Germany. After their marriage the couple settled in Germany. In 1954, they were sponsored by Adolph and Berdina Heithus and came to the United States to the Paullina, Iowa area. They worked for Clifford Hellmann on his farm. Marie also worked in Myrick's Hardware and for the James Meyer family.

Her husband preceded her in death on May 4, 1975 in Primghar, Iowa. Marie continued to make her home in Paullina. She was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church in Paullina. Marie enjoyed crocheting and playing cards.

Marie leaves to cherish her two daughters, Gisela Heithus of Paullina and Waltraut Heithus of Salt Lake City, Utah; three grandchildren, [redacted]; four greatgrandchildren, [redacted]; also a hosts of other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and three brothers.
