Funeral services were held in memory of Catharina Peters, 93, in the United Methodist Church, Sutherland, Friday, Jan. 8. 1982, at 10:30 a.m. The Rev. C.H. Bischoff officiated. Casket bearers were Gary Grause, Lloyd Peters, Herb Hillmer, Gary Peters, Bill Peters, and Bill Ginger. A committal service was held in the Waterman Cemetery, Sutherland, la.

Catharina A. Peters, the daughter of Fedder and Anna Kruse Fedderson was born Aug. 26, 1888 at Larrabee, la. She was educated in schools near her childhood home and was a lifetime resident of the Sutherland, la. area. She was also a lifetime member of the Zion United Church of Christ at Calumet, la.

She was united in marriage to William Peters in September of 1907 at Larrabee. They became the parents of four children. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary at Sutherland.

She passed away at Sioux Valley Hospital in Cherokee on Jan. 5, 1982 at the age of 93. Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband in 1954 and one son, Arnold in 1979.

Left to cherish her memory are two daughters, Anna McGreevey and Catharine Peters, both of Sutherland, and one son, Donald of Larrabee, eight grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
