Services in memorv of Mrs.
Clifford (Vera) Hoff of Spirit
Lake, formerly of Hartley, were
held 10:30 a.m. Thursday, April
28. 1988 at First Presbyterian
Church of Spirit Lake. Iowa.
Pastor Walter Hamer officiated.
Pallbearers were Bob Bryan,
Les Graeber, Robert Graves, Dan
Hively, Barry Holtgrewe and
Ernest Wilcke. Interment was in
Pleasant View Cemetery, Hartley.

Vera Hoff was bom September
16, 1915 in Guthrie County, Iowa
to Charles and Sarah Issac
Arnburg. She was married to
Clarence Shaefer and to this
union were born five children.
On November 28, 1958 she was
married to Clifford Hoff at Sioux
Falls, South Dakota and they
made their home in Spirit Lake.

Vera was a homemaker and
for many years worked for the
Bryan Laundry in Spirit Lake.
She was a member of the First
Presbyterian Church of Spirit
Lake.

She passed away at her home
on April 25, 1988 of apparent
heart failure.

Surviving are her
husband, Clifford; son and
daughter-in-law. Darrell and
Sandi Shaefer of Pella, Iowa;
daughters and sons-in-law,
Wilma and Mario Knock of
Melvin. Iowa. Thelma and Gerald
Wiser of Woodbine, Iowa,
Marilyn Yanak and her fiance
Ron Jorgenson of Sergeant
Bluff, Iowa: three brothers, Roy
Arnburg of Redfield, Iowa, Raymond
Arnburg of Atlantic, Iowa,
and Max Arnburg of Ankeny,
Iowa: two sisters, Ruth Shaefer
of Canon City, Colorado and
Lois Plowman of Adair, Iowa;
nine grandchildren and two
great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by
her son Ronald, parents, two
brothers and two sisters.
