Christian William Baumeister,
the son of C. K. and Dora Brugeman
Baumeister, was born January
9, 1906 at Hartley, Iowa in
O'Brien County.

He was united in marriage to
Alda Rohweder at Hartley on
February 23, 1931. They made
their home on a farm near Hartley.
Chris was a member of the Trinity
United Church of Christ in Hartley.

He passed away at Sioux Valley
Hospital in Cherokee, Iowa on July
10, 1986 at the age of 80.

Preceding him in death were his
parents, his wife in 1985, a son
Verlyn in 1948 and one sister, Lillie
Mengel.

Left to cherish bis memory are
his son and daughter-in-law, Lyle
and Daisy Baumeister of Spearfish,
S.D.; two grandchildren, Ken
Baumeister of Spearfish and Kathy
Jensen of New Castle, Wyo.; three
great-grandchildren, Jamin Baumeister
and Christa and J. L.
Jensen, as well as other relatives
and friends.

Funeral services for Chris Baumeister
were held at the United
Methodist Church in Hartley Monday
afternoon, July 14. Rev.
Bernard Sayler officiated and
burial was at the Pleasant View
Cemetery at Hartley, with the
Baumgarten Funeral Home in
charge of the arrangements.
The casket bearers were Fred
Schoelerman, Lon Vogt, Doug
Nagel, Merlyn Schoelerman, LeRoy
Steffen and Bill Rausch.
