Theresa "Tracy" (Muhs) Bracker (1899-1965)

Mrs. Clarence Bracker, nee Theresa (Tracy) Muhs, was born June 11, 1899, in Omega Township, O'Brien County, the child of Henry Muhs and Fredericka Beinke. She attended the rural schools there, receiving her early training.

She was married to Clarence Bracker on February 18, 1920, which union was blessed with three children. Mrs. Bracker was a baptized and confirmed member of Trinity United Church of Christ, where she worshipped and shared her church fellowship. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary. Her chief interest was her home and family.

She rejoiced in the loyalties of her family and friends. Particularly did she enjoy the auto drives through the neighboring areas. She was of a genteel spirit, sharing the common bonds with those about her.

The couple made their home in Osceola County where they farmed their entire active years. They retired to Spencer on March 1, 1951, where they have resided since.

Mrs. Bracker suffered failing health the past few years. She became seriously ill after returning from a visit to her children in Texas. Her condition worsened until her death on February 20 at the Spencer hospital.

She is survived by her husband, Mr. Clarence Bracker; two daughters, Mrs. Elmer (Betty) Witt of Everly and Mrs. Raymond (Lois) Trojahn, Dallas. Texas; a son, Roger Bracker, San Antonio, Texas; nine grandchildren. Ronald, Kerry Jo and Peggy Witt. Becky, Nancy and Billie Trojahn. and Terry, Gerry and Mark Bracker; a brother, Louis Muhs; and many relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held Tuesday at the Trinity United Church of Christ in Hartley. Pallbearers were John Brandt, Freeman Albright, Oscar Mohni, Baxter Clayton, Henry Wieditz and Lee Pohlman. The interment was in Pleasant View Cemetery, Hartley.
