Alfred Gustav Steuck, the son of Julius and Anna Lange Steuck, was born September 2, 1904 at at Alberta, Minnesota. He passed away May 24, 1972 at Hartley, Iowa at the age of 67. From 1904 to 1926 he lived at Alberta, Minnesota and attended the Alberta Community School.

From 1921 to 1925 he served with the U. S. Navy and in 1925 he joined the U. S. Army for 2 years

On January 31, 1928 he was united in marriage to Louise Ginger at Spencer, Iowa. They became the parents of 4 children.

In 1926 he moved to the Sutherland community and farmed for several years. From 1949 to 1964 he managed the Farmer's Elevator, retiring in November, 1964 He served many years on the O'Brien County A.S.C. Committe. When an infant he was baptized in the Lutheran faith and was confirmed in 1919. He was a member of the Bethel Lutheran Church in Sutherland.

Preceding him in death were an infant son, his parents, and his stepfather. Left to cherish his memory are his wife, 1 son, Kenneth of Spirit Lake. 2 daughters, Mrs. Gail (Lorraine) Boardman of Primghar, and Mrs. Roger (Karolyn) Gopperton of Sutherland. 6 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild, 2 brothers, Art of Chokio, Minn., and Edward of Phoenix. Ariz., 1 sister, Mrs. Otto (Martha) Scheelk, Alberta, Minn. 2 half-brothers, Ervin and Elmer Lemmerman, both of Alberta, nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.
