Frank A Gabby (1888-1970)

Frank A. Gabby was born August 18, 1888 near Ollie, Iowa to Samuel and Sabina Gabby. With the exception of three years in Missouri, his entire life was spent in Iowa as a farmer or as a businessman. He farmed in the Deep River and Sigourney areas and was a livestock buyer for many years.

On June 19, 1937 he was united in marriage to Margaret Brown of Paullina. They have resided in Paullina for the past twenty=seven years. Survivors include his wife, Margaret, one son Merlin of Oak Lawn, Illinois, fourteen grandchildren and a number of great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one son, Otto, three sisters and a brother.

Funeral services for Frank A. Gabby of Paullina were held on Tuesday February 10 at 11 a.m. at the Paullina Presbyterian church. Mr. Gabby passed away February 7 at Sioux City at the age of 81 years 5 months and 19 days. Rev. Robert Hickman was the clergyman. Pallbearers were Clarence Peters, Otto Jipp, Mario Ebel, Ronald Hagenbucher, Ray Carlson , and Alvin Horstman. Rev. John Gabrielson was the soloist and Mrs. Bently Brown was organist. Burial was in Prairie View Cemetery with arrangements under the care of the Gaudian Funeral Home.
