Mrs. Clarence Rabe, died very suddenly Thursday morning, August 16, at the Sioux Valley hospital, Cherokee. Mrs. Rabe had gone to the hospital the previous afternoon. She was the mother of three children, one, Alan Lee, was three weeks of age. Mrs. Rabe was 27.

Beatrice May Brown, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Roscoe Brown, was born March 5, 1924 at Paullina, la. and died Aug. 16, 1951 at the age of 27 years, 5 months and 11 days.

Raised on a farm 4 miles south of Paullina, she attended Paullina high school and graduated from this school in 1941. As a young lady she was very active in. the work of Oakdale Evangelical Free church, singing in the choir and serving in various organizations in the church In 1942 a serious accident almost took her life.

On May 5, 1944 she was married to Clarence E. Rabe, Paullina. To them were born three sons, Lyle Clarence, now six years, Michael Lynn, three years and Alan Lee, three weeks old. Others surviving her are her husband, her father and mother, two sisters, Mrs. Martha Jackson of West Bend and Mrs. Charlotte Gabrielson of Concord, Nebr; two brothers, Bentley Brown, Paullina and John Alex Brown of the U. S. Navy.

Funeral services were held Aug. 18 at 1:30 at the Boothby funeral home and at 2:30 at Oakdale Evangelical Free church. In the absence of the pastor, the Rev George Nehf, the Rev. Bertil Thorne of Meriden, officiated. Mrs. Donald Adair sang "Day by Day", "When We See Christ", "God's Way is the Best Way" and "Some Golden Daybreak" accompanied by Maxine Lundell at the organ. Pallbearers were Delbert Carlson, Eldon Larson, Dale Wester Philip Hazen, Irvin Ivarson and Howard Lundell. Burial was in Prairie View cemetery, Paullina,
