Aaron Dayid Shaw, son of Johnathon and Rebecca Shaw, was born November 12, 1869.at Vinton, Ia., and passed away [illegible] of 82 years and 22 days. When ho was 17 years old he moved with his parents to Tilden, Nebr., where they resided for six years, returning then to Iowa where he spent the remainder of his life; the last 50 years in O'Brien county. He was engaged in farming near Paullina and Archer from 1901 until 1918 at which time he retired and moved to Sanborn.

On Feb 6, 1912, he was united in marriage to Martha Reisser who passed away August 22 of this year. He was also preceded in death by his father, mother and three brothers, Emmor, Guy and John. Survivors are one sister-in-law, Mrs. M. Shaw of Cherokee, several neices and nephews and a host of friends.

Funeral services were held Friday afternoon in the Funeral Home, Sanborn, with the Rev. G.F. Butler, of Green, Iowa, former Presbyterian pastor here, conducting the rites. Burial was in Roseland cemetery beside his wife who had gone before him such a short time ago.

Songs were "Going Down the Valley" and "Rock of Ages," sung by a male quartet: John DeGooyer, Leslie Getting, W. V. Oostenbrug, Dick Zonnefeld. Casketbearers were: Harry Porth, George Phinney, Francis Hickey, Edw. Weinke, Bert Rozeboom and Weldon Gallup. Relatives and friends from away who attended the services included: Mr. and Mrs. Ray Shaw, Aurelia; Mr. and Mrs. Harold Shaw, Mrs. Beulah Bunney and son, Edwin, Cherokee; Mr. and Mrs. Ben Christiansen and sons, Schaller, Ia., Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Blahauvietz, Harris; Mrs. Laurence Dick and son, of Sibley; Mrs. Herb Zaiser, Deadwood, S. D.
