Mrs. Guenther was an exemplary housekeeper, and her friends and neighbors always found a hospitable welcome in her home. She and her husband were charter members of Trinity Evangelical church, and Mrs. Guenther belonged to the founders of Its Ladles Aid and Dorcas societies, in which she retained her membership till the present time. She was for many years also an active member of the Hartley Women's Relief Corps.

Ten years ago her sister and brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Erion, her only close relatives, lost their lives in a fatal accident in Colorado. Her step-daughter, Miss Lula Guenther, passed away Nov. 1, 1919 at the age of 27 years.
