Services Held March 3 for Norma Richter

Funeral services were held for Norma Jean Richter at the Trinity United Church of Christ in Hartley on Saturday afternoon, March 3. Rev. Bernard Sayler officiated and burial was at the Pleasant View Cemetery, Hartley, with the Baumgarten Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.

The casket bearers were Steve Hunt, Mark Tewes, Jerry Tewes, Rick Richter, Brent Tewes and Bruce Tewes.

Norma Jean Richter, the daughter of Ernest and Nellie Baumeister Tewes, was born August 6, 1935 at Hartley, Iowa. She attended rural school near her childhood home.

She was united in marriage to Marlyn Richter on February 23, 1964 at Worthington, Minnesota. They lived for two years at Primghar and for the last eighteen years, on a farm near Granville. She was a member of the Trinity United Church of Christ at Hartley.

She passed away at the hospital in Hartley on February 29, 1984 at the age of 48, following a long illness. Preceding her in death were her parents, one infant sister, Marilyn, and one brother, Lawrence.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Marlyn; one son, Lanny and one daughter, Christine, both at home; eight brothers, Harlan, Marvin, Lester and Eldon of Hartley, Delmar of Royal, Orville of Paullina, Arlo of Primghar and Roger of Larrabee; four sisters, Mrs. Arlene Harders, Mrs. Marjorie Petersen, Mrs. Darrel (Mildred) Hennings and Mrs Harold (Marlene) Wills, all of Hartley; as well as many other relatives and friends.
