Services Held Monday for Blanche Hodgdon

Mrs. Delbert Hodgdon, 76, died suddenly at her home in Paullina Friday, Decemeber 3. She was a life-long resident of Paullina.

Born on Feb.26, 1895 at Paullina, she graduated from Morningside College in Sioux City and taught in Calumet, Sutherland, and Paullina. Blanche Thompson married Delbert Hodgdon on Nov. 11, 1922 at Paullina.

Survivors are one daughter, Mrs. E.E. (Virginia) Benner of Sioux Falls, S.D.; three grandsons and one sister, Mrs. Esther Daines of Santa Barbara, California.

Her husband preceded her in death in 1953.

Services were held Monday morning at Presbyterian Church in Paullina with Rev. Robert Hickman officiating. Pallbearers were Dale Spaan, James Meyer, Howard Tjossem, Kermit Jacobsen, Marvin Waite and Martin Axdahl. Mrs. Harold DeJong sand "The Old Rugged Cross" and "Abide with Me" with Mrs. Otis Grosvenor as organist.

Burial was in Prairie View Cemetery with Gaudian Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
