Maud E (Libby) Bailey (1860-1912)

Last Tuesday morning at 10:30 Mrs. Maud (Libby) Bailey, beloved wife of John Bailey, passed away at her home in Center township, confined to her bed but one week. The case had not been considered dangerous 'till shortly before her death. The cause was assigned as typhoid pneumonia.

Maud E Libby was born in Mercer County, Ill. Oct. 18, 1860 and came to Benton County, Iowa, with her parents in 1864. March 7, 187S, she was married to John Bailey. In 1885 they moved to Trenton, Nebraska, where they have since resided.

Those left to mourn besides the bereaved husband are three children, Harry C. Bailey, Mrs. Geo. Wright and L. Hobart Bailey, an aged mother, one sister and four brothers.

Her church membership was with the United Presbyterian church and at time of her death was a member of the Methodist Ladies Aid Society of Center township. For some years she had been a member of the lodge of Royal Neighbors.
The funeral was held from the First Presbyterian church of Sanborn and conducted by the pastor Rev. Wells. The text was taken from Mark G 31, "Come rest awhile " The interment was made in Roseland cemetery.

The entire community joins the relatives in mourning the death of one whose faith in Christ was made a part of her daily life. And as one said, she spread sunshine where ever she went, aud all who knew her feel that the loss is that of all with whom she came in contact.
