PETER PRINCE 1903 —1985

Peter Prince, the son of John and Mary (Decker) Prince, was born at Chicago, Illinois on October 14,1903. He spent his youth and attended school in Chicago and later moved to Lebanon, la. He moved to Sanborn in 1934.

On January 30, 1927 he was united in marriage to Johanna Rynders at Lebanon. Following their marriage they lived in Lebanon, Hull and Sanborn, Iowa. During his lifetime he was associated with the hatchery business. He was a member of the Christian Reformed Church and was a former Sanborn businessman.
He passed away at Baum-Harmon Memorial Hospital at Primghar on November 7, 1985 at the age of 82 years and 23 days. He is survived by his wife, Johanna, two daughters: Mrs. Joe (Viola) Wolthuizen, and Mrs. Dick S. (Polly) Hofman, both of Sanborn and one son, Don, of Grand Rapids, Mich., seven grandchildren and one sister, Catherine Jones of Sioux City.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Rich and Gerrit, and one sister, Thressa.

Funeral services were held November 11 at the Christian Reformed Church of Sanborn with Rev. Stuart Pastine officiating. Casket bearers were Ed Boone, Maynard Elgersma, John Anema, Fred Anema, John Vander Werff and Greg Vogelaar. Congregational hymns were "As Thirsts the Hart for Water Brooks," and "O God, Our Help in Ages Past." Donna Hofman was organist. Burial was in Roseland Cemetery, Sanborn with the Sanborn Funeral Home in charge.
