ARTHUR BOGAARD 1913—1985
Arthur Bogaard, the son of Harry and Minnie (Jansma) Bogaard, was born at Archer, Iowa on May 14, 1913. He spent his youth and attended school at Sheldon, Iowa. He left Sheldon in 1936 and moved to Chicago, Illinois, where he was engaged as a chef during his lifetime. In January of 1985 he moved to Farley, Iowa and passed away there on November 5, 1985 at the age of 72 years, five months and 21 days.
He is survived by his brothers and sisters: Margaret Smith of Sioux City, la., John, of Hospers, Ann Ekdhal of Saugatuc, Mich., Minnie Martin of Windsor, Mo., Harry, of Tampa, Fla., Adrian, of Chicago, Ill., Vernon, of Sanborn, Phyllis Snyder, of Sanborn, and Donald of Jacksonville, N.C.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers. Graveside services were held November 8 at Roseland Cemetery, with Rev. Wm. Haak officiating.
