Erwin Heimsoth

Services in memory of Erwin Heimsoth. 78. of Storm Lake, formerly of Hartley, were held Saturday. March 31. 1990, at Grace Lutheran Church of Storm Lake. Pastor Robert Gadeken officiated. Casket bearers were grandsons Kerry Grumley, Kevin Harms, Lane Heimsoth, Lance Heimsoth. Heath Petersen and Jay Heimsoth. Honorary bearers were Ben Knock. Richard Sievert. Albert Fett and Otto Lorch. Interment was in Pleasant View Cemetery of Hartley. Jones-Barker Funeral Home of Alta was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Heimsoth died March 28. 1990. in Buena Vista County Hospital at Storm Lake. Erwin was born March 5, 1912, to William and Mary (Schumacher) Heimsoth in Aurelia, Iowa.

On December 19. 1935, he married Alice Tolzin at Aurelia where they made their home. A farmer all his life, he farmed in the Aurelia area until 1953 when the couple moved to Melvin. They continued to farm, moving to Ocheyedan in 1957, and later to the Hartley area in 1963. They continued to live in the Hartley area until his wife's death November 24. 1970.

He married Lorene Wogahn of Aurelia on December 4, 1971, in Aurelia. The couple farmed by Aurelia until 1976, then moved to Storm Lake, continuing to farm until 1978.

Preceding him in death were his parents: his sister, Florence Stromberg of Storm Lake: twin daughters, Joan and JoAnn: and his wife, Alice.

Survivors include his wife, Lorene Heimsoth of Storm Lake: four sons, Robert of Hartley, John of Colorado Spring, Colorado. James of LeMars, and Steven of Mitchell, South Dakota; one stepson, Dr. Larry Wogahn of Marion, Iowa; four daughters. Patricia-Mrs. Paul Grumley of Creston, Mary-Mrs. Curtis Harms of Mitchell. South Dakota, Dorothy-Mrs. Lester Petersen of Cozad, Nebraska, and Jane-Mrs. Joe Schmillen of Cherokee; two sisters, Mrs. Ella Dodge of Browns Valley, Minnesota, and Mrs. Lillian Huber of Storm Lake; 14 grandchildren, three step grandchildren, and four great grandchildren.
