VELMA EMMA DUTTON JEHUE

Velma Emma Dutton, daughter of Harry and Ella Dutton, was born in Hartley, Iowa, on December 19, 1909. She lived her youth and attended elementary school and graduated from the Hartley High School in 1927. After her graduation she taught in the rural school near Hartley, Iowa.

She was united in marriage to John Jehue on December 3, 1933, at Pipestone, Minn. Their entire married life was lived in Sanborn, Iowa, where she and her husband were in business for a number of years at the Jehue Motor Company and the Pike Cafe. They re­tired from business in 1969.

She entered the Prairie View Retirement Home of Sanborn, Iowa on Dec. 30, 1970, and made her home there until the time of her death at the Community Memorial Hospital at Sheldon, Iowa on February 7, 1975 at the age of 65 years, 1 month and 18 days.

She is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Ray (Lois) Holmes of Everly, Iowa, and Mrs. George (Opal) Hakeman of Sanborn, Iowa; and one nephew and his family.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Ella, on December 28, 1928 her father, Harry, on June 6, 1971; her husband, John, on April 26, 1974; one brother and one sister.
