Debra Kay Brown

Debra Kay Brown, 45, formerly of Sutherland, died Tuesday, January 9, 2001 in the Vassar Brothers Hospital in Poughkeepsie, New York, following a courageous battle with cancer.
Funeral services were held Monday, January 15, from the Boothby Funeral Home, Cherokee. Rev. Robert Beverly, pastor of Netherwood Baptist Church, officiated. Interment was in Oak Hill Cemetery.

Debra was born December 21, 1955 in Cherokee to William and Mary (Korleski) Lenz She attended Sutherland grade school and graduated from Sutherland High School in 1974.

She was married to Thomas R. Brown of Cherokee on September 28, 1974 in Cherokee. The couple relocated to New York State, most recently in the town of Hyde Park.

She was a member of the Netherwood Baptist Church at Salt Point, NY. Debby worked at North Park Elementary School as a dietary aide. She was active in the Hyde Park Little League Program. She enjoyed gardening, crafts and sewing.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents She is survived by her husband Tom; three sons, Jason, Christopher and Timothy, all at home; her parents Bill and Mary Lenz, Sutherland, two sisters, Regina Mills and her husband Alan of Sutherland, and Joyce Ballenger and her husband Barry of Liberty, Missouri, three brothers, Ron Lenz and his wife Linda of Remsen, John Lenz and his wife Shelly of Sutherland, and Dan Lenz of Sutherland, also many nieces, nephews other relatives and many friends.
