RUDOLPH JOHN HEIN

Rudolph John Hein, the son of of Charles and Minnie Mohr Hein, was born April 8, 1899 in Scott County, Iowa. He entered into eternal life on Oct. 28, 1965 in Hartley, Iowa, following a short illness. He had reached the age of 66 years, 6 months, and 20 days.

He came with his parents to O'Brien County at the age of one year, and had been a resi­dent here the remainder of his life. He attended the rural schools in Center Township. He had always been engaged in farming until moving into town five years ago. For 60 years he had lived on the same farm in Center Township near here.

On Feb. 23, 1921 he was united in marriage to Selma Zinn, with Rev. E. Holtz officiating at the country church in Center Twp. To them were born four children: Clarence, Orlin, Marlys, and Teresa.

Mr. Hein was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church of Hartley, and faithfully attended its worship services. He was baptized and confirmed here on March 25, 1923, by Rev. Edward A. Hoffmann.

He was preceded in death by his parents. Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Selma; his sons, Clarence C. Hein and Orlin W. Hein, both of Hartley; his daughters, Marlys (Mrs. Ivan Foster) of New Rockford, North Dakota, and Teresa (Mrs. Denny Durst) of Moneta; nine grandchildren; one brother, Hugo Hein of Hartley; as well as other relatives and a great many friends.

Last rites were held on Sunday, Oct. 31 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Hartley, with Rev. A. O. Bleeke officiating. Pallbearers were Delbert Welch, Leland Pohlman, Freeman Albright, Julius Petersen, Howard Guenther and Roy Pippert. Interment was made in Pleasant View cemetery.
